The comic is not without its differences from the film, positive and negative. The artwork is simply gorgeous, done by Berni Wrightson (who also illustrated the King novels 'The Stand' and 'Cycle of the Werewolf'), and the narration for the "Creepshow Creep" (a sort of stand-in for the Cryptkeeper) is noth ing short of hilarious. But how many people know there actually was a comic? Creepshow the movie is based off of the old EC Comics like 'Tales from the Crypt' and 'Vault of Horror,' so it made sense for them to release a one-shot trade paperback containing comic book versions of all five stories in the film. By now, I think everyone knows the five stories featured in it, and that the framing story revolves around the titular comic book. 1982's 'Creepshow,' directed by George Romero, written by Stephen King and featuring special effects from Tom Savini, is an 80's classic that few dispute.

In 2001, Hannibal was adapted into a major motion picture directed by Sir Ridley Scott and starring Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter and Julianne Moore as Clarice Starling. The novel has been called “the exquisite satisfaction of a truly great melodrama” by The Guardian and “relentless – endlessly terrifying” by The Los Angeles Times The Denver Post asserts it will “scare your socks off.” Famed horror scribe Stephen King considers Hannibal one of the two scariest novels ever written, alongside The Exorcist. When Mason Verger, a vengeful victim and sadistic psychopath, targets Lecter, he must thwart Verger’s plot to use FBI Agent Clarice Starling as bait to lure Lecter into his trap. The story continues Lecter’s time on the run in Florence, Italy. Book 3 in the Hannibal Lecter series, American author Thomas Harris’s mystery crime thriller and horror novel, Hannibal (1999), is set seven years after Lecter escaped a maximum security mental institution at the end of Silence of the Lambs. One of my favorite comic community happenings of each year is when a message board member named TigerEyes announces that it’s time for the “Annual Secret Ballot: Marvel’s Most-Wanted Omnibus.”įor the uninitiated, what this means is that over a hundred of the biggest Marvel fans and collectors who like to chat each other up on the internet send in their picks for what Marvel material is most worthy of compiling into an oversize Marvel Omnibus Edition, massive tomes that sometimes run over 1,000 pages and up to 50 issues of collected comics. It imaginatively shows the extent to which the world of this comic has been affected by this disease, which seems to have some positive aspects to it - though this is before people realised The Beauty caused internal combustion! The Beauty’s uses are explored further in this book as an effective way of changing your identity if you’re on the run as well as enhancing trans people’s appearances so that they look more physically like the gender they’ve transitioned to. In the first volume we discovered that The Beauty was an STD that made anyone who had it extremely physically attractive - for a short time that is before burning them up from the inside-out! Here it’s like a street drug? Huh. We’re also introduced to a trans hitman who becomes a target for her bosses after being set up. If you thought the second volume of The Beauty would follow on from the first, think again - this is an entirely new cast of characters and storyline! In Volume 2 we meet a gangster who rips off his employers and uses The Beauty to completely change his appearance to escape.
